What is the Primary PE and Sport Premium?
The Primary PE and Sport Premium is additional funding provided by the government to improve the quality of physical education, physical activity and sport in primary schools. The funding is intended to make sustainable improvements that benefit all pupils, supporting healthier lifestyles, increased participation in sport and the development of high-quality PE provision.
How Will We Use the Funding and Who Will Benefit?
At Abbots Ripton CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all children enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle and have access to high-quality physical education, sport and physical activity opportunities.
Governors and leaders recognise that the PE and Sport Premium should benefit all pupils, regardless of their sporting ability, and should also support the ongoing professional development of staff to ensure sustainable improvements in provision.
We will use this funding to:
- Enhance the quality of PE teaching through specialist coaching and support for staff.
- Increase opportunities for children to take part in competitive sport, festivals and sporting events both within school and with other local schools.
- Provide a range of extracurricular sporting opportunities, including clubs and activities that encourage participation and healthy lifestyles.
- Purchase equipment and resources that support the delivery of high-quality PE, sport and physical activity across the school.
- Develop children's confidence, enjoyment and engagement in physical activity, helping them to establish positive habits for life.
We will regularly review the impact of our spending throughout the year to ensure that it is improving outcomes for pupils and providing good value for money.
